For centuries in the past, Istanbul has been a center of commerce, with merchants from all over the world coming here. The Asian side of the city, especially the areas adjacent to the Bosphorus strait, was the main gathering place for all the goods going to Asia, and so the districts thrived financially and residentially, acquiring a great tradition of trading that exists to this day. Right there, in Kadikoy district, the heart of the Anatolian side of the city, conveniently located on the E-5 highway and easy to reach, lays the Optimum Outlet Center.
Opened by the Renaissance Holding construction company in 2008, it represents the second of four of their projects of Optimum brand of outlet centers. On a total area of 134,985 square meters, it was built with a rather stylish, modern look that attracts attention of passengers in vehicles passing by on the busy E-5. With a gross leasable area of 44,704 square meters, it includes over 150 retail units, home to a wide array of both nationally and internationally renowned brands, with full-priced stores as well as outlet. You will find here something for everyone, be it men’s or women’s fashion or kids’ clothes and shoes. It received two awards in 2010, being declared both Turkey’s and Europe’s best outlet centre by AMPD and ISCS respectively. With a lot of stores, even the ones that are not classified as outlets, offering various discount options, this center is a must if you are already travelling by E-5 and passing by, and it is definitely worth the trip if you are somewhere else in Istanbul. With a vast range on brands and items on sale, there are a lot of satisfied customers every day, with the amount of visitors rising up to nine million on a yearly basis.
Influenced by the modern shopping centers, the Optimum Outlet isn’t a limited experience, but offers a lot more than plain shopping. There are a lot of ways to entertain yourself in this venue, such as the bowling alley if you have some spare time.
